Learning from Mistakes

This semester completes my first year of college. I have to say, it has been a roller coaster so far. I thought it was going to be similar to high school where you can get away with pretty much anything. If you missed a class, you could easily get caught up and convince your teacher to turn in late assignments without docking off points. When in college, if you miss a class, your whole life is now off track. It is now your responsibility to get caught up and turn in those late assignments, minus however many points your professor decides to dock from you. I really miss that from high school. Now that I look at it, it was wrong of the teachers to allow the students to get away with late assignments. It personally made me unprepared for college because of how I got in the force of habit of turning in late assignments and getting full credit for them, so when I tried the same technique for college, my professor looked at me with such a confused face and laughed. I wish my high school teachers would have gotten into that technique of treating their students the way they were treated in college so that way I wouldn't have gone through that embarrassing moment with my professor. At least now, I can learn from my mistakes.
